John Fessler

Principal Engineer, Exponent

    Dr. John Fessler, P.E., CSCIP, is a Principal Engineer at Exponent and has been working in the areas of smart cards, identity, and access control for government applications for the past 20 years. He has been involved in the DoD’s CAC program and the GSA’s PIV program, with particular emphasis on the quality and reliability of cards and related peripherals. Dr. Fessler is also an active participant in the national and international standards committees related to identity cards. In recent years, Dr. Fessler and Exponent have been working with various government agencies to help chart their mobile device authentication strategies. Exponent’s focus in this space relates to the secure issuance and authentication of digital credentials on mobile devices, including Derived Credentials.
